Wheezing

 

If there is any whistling sound that feels as if it is coming from your chest when you breathe, you could be wheezing.

Narrowing air ways in the lungs causes wheezing. It is a sign that shows there is difficulty breathing. Wheezing can be return caused by asthma, bronchitis, smoking, allergies, pneumonia, sensitivities to chemicals or pollution, emphysema,lung cancer, heart failure, or even an inhaled object that is trapped in the airways.

The conditions that cause most cases of wheezing require medical attention.

Signs and Symptoms that needs care :

  • Person has asthma, and wheezing lasts despite self- care or worsens.
  • Any new wheezing.
  • Shortness of breath.
  • Wheezing caused by an object lodged in the throat.
  • Mild bouts of wheezing associated with already diagnosed asthma.


Self Care :

If you have been diagnosed as having asthma, follow the care plan given to you by your medical provider when you have a bout of wheezing.
