Kitchen Medicine

Cucumber (Cucumis sativus)

This is more of a cosmetic plant than a healer.
Although the cucumber also has medicinal properties: it acts on the water balance, is diuretic and loosens kidney stones.
It is useful in cases of edema and cellulite.
It also stimulates lazy intestines.
For cosmetic purposes, it is one of the best moisturizing agents.
The juice is refreshing, tonic, cleansing and soothing, especially on sunburned, or tired skin.
