Convalescence

Convalescence is nothing but the period of rest and recuperation that follows an illness. The length of it depends on the type and seriousness of the illness.

You may be tired because of the prolonged illness of the child and sleepless nights The child too may be tired of bed, medicines, restricted diet and so on.
He may also have got used to extra attention ann may be loathe to part with it.

The amount of rest he needs as well as the diet will have to be according to the doctor’s advice, but you should try your best to keep him amused.
At all times you should try and be patient and not blame his illness for your tiredness or absence from work.

Also , it is good to have some friends around to play a game, too many people for too long can be very tiring.
Make sure that the child gets adequate rest and is not too excited before bedtime.
While it is necessary to give him nutritious food of the kind he likes, let him not take this opportunity to dictate his terms all the time.
He may want you all to himself because he has got used to that during his illness.
